NEW YEAR RESOLUTIONS?

Gen 7:11-12 When Noah was 600 years old, on the seventeenth day of the second month, all the underground waters erupted from the earth, and the rain fell in mighty torrents from the sky. The rain continued to fall for forty days and forty nights

Gen 8:13-16 Noah was now 601 years old. On the first day of the first month, ten and a half months after the flood began; the floodwaters had almost dried up from the earth. Noah lifted back the covering of the boat and saw that the surface of the ground was drying.

New Confidence in God

“But God remembered Noah and all the wild animals and livestock with him in the boat. He sent a wind to blow across the earth and the floodwaters began to recede”.

Song of Solomon 2:11-13 Look, the winter is past, and the rains are over and gone. The flowers are springing up, the season of singing birds has come, and the cooing of turtledoves fills the air.”

2. New level of Obedience

Gen 6:3 “My spirit will not strive with men forever”

Rom 11:22--Notice how God is both kind and severe. He is severe toward those who disobeyed, but kind to you if you continue to trust in his kindness. But if you stop trusting, you also will be cut off

In contrast, Noah’s obedience…

Gen 6:22-So Noah did everything exactly as God had commanded him Gen 7:5”So Noah did everything as the Lord commanded him

3. New Mission

Gen 9:1 ‘Then God blessed Noah and his sons and told them, “be fruitful and multiply. Filled the earth”
