Tennessee Border States TN shares shares boundaries with eight states. A boundary is the edge of a region. Boundaries between states are called political boundaries. Name Tennessee’s eight border states.

Tennessee’s Three Grand Divisions Tennessee is divided into regions called the three grand divisions: –West Tennessee –Middle Tennessee –East Tennessee

West Tennessee The Mississippi River and the Tennessee River form the natural boundaries of West Tennessee. A major city in West TN is Memphis. It is located on the Mississippi River. Memphis has the largest population density in the state. Can you think of a reason why Memphis has a large population? Memphis Population density is a measure of how many people live in a place.

Nashville became the state capital in 1827.
