Unit 1 Review

Square Numbers A square number is a number that has the same numbers for its dimensions.

Composite Numbers A composite number has more than 2 factors and more than 1 array. Arrays for the number 12

Prime Numbers A prime number is a number with only 2 factors, 1 and itself.

Is the number square, composite, or prime? Draw as many arrays as possible for these numbers

Answers 16 SQUARE (4 x 4) 7 PRIME (1 x 7) 24 COMPOSITE (1 x 24, 2 x 12, 3 x 8, 4 x 6)

Factors A factor is the number you skip count by. It is also all of the numbers that can divide evenly into a number. Factors of 20: 1, 2, 4, 5, 10, 20

Factors Find the factors of the following numbers:

Factors 15 (1, 3, 5, 15) 32 (1, 2, 3, 4, 8, 16, 32) 28 (1, 2, 4, 7, 14, 28)

Factors Use the diagram to help you identify 2 factors of 15.

Factors Use the diagram to help you find 2 factors of 54.

Factors Which of these is not a factor of 100. A. 25 B. 40 C. 50 D. 10

Factors Which of these is not a factor of 300. A. 30 B. 25 C. 100 D. 40

Factors Which of these is not a factor of 500. A. 50 B. 30 C. 100 D. 25

Multiples A multiple is a number that you land on when you skip count by a number. It is the number you count by or a larger number. Multiples of 4: 4, 8, 12, 16, 20, 24, 28

Multiples Find the multiples of the following numbers

Multiples Multiples of 3: (3, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18, 21, 24) Multiples of 8: (8, 16, 24, 32, 40, 48, 56) Multiples of 12: (12, 24, 36, 48, 60, 72, 84)

Multiplication Draw an array to help solve this problem. Dan has 8 baskets. He puts 9 books in each basket. How many books does he have in all?

Multiplication Use 2 x 500 = 1000 to answer the following problems. 4 x x x 500

Breaking Down Numbers Which one of these answers would help you break down 8 x 11? A. 8 x 10 = 80 and 8 x 2 = 16 B. 8 x 5 = 40 and 8 x 5 = 40 C. 8 x 10 = 80 and 8 x 1 = 8 D. 8 x 12 = 96 and 8 x 2 = 16

Multiples Which equation represents 5 people counting by 6s? A. 5 x 6 B. 30 x 1 C D

Multiples Which equation represents 3 people counting by 9s? A B C. 27 x 1 D. 3 x 9
