Safety Management System Safety management system provides organizations : –the capacity to anticipate and address safety issues before they lead to an incident or accident. –the ability to deal effectively with accidents and near misses so that valuable lessons are applied to improve safety and efficiency.

Current Requirements Amendment 40 to Annex 11 –Implement systematic and appropriate ATS safety management programme that: identifies actual and potential hazards and determines the need for remedial action; ensures that remedial action necessary to maintain an acceptable level of safety is implemented; and provides for continuous monitoring and regular assessment of the safety level achieved.
