E-commerce in the Slovak Republic Katarina Jakubova Ministry of Transport, Posts and Telecommunications of the Slovak Republic

During the last years Internet and its services has established as a new medium. This medium allows access to information from whole world, make communication easier and speed up and also open new still unknown and unsuspected posibilities and activities in the fields of commercial, social and privat life. Internet and other new communications resources however have also shady aspects from abuse for criminal acts to negative reach for customers.

Legislation 1/4 Law No. 215/2002 Coll. on electronic signature the law was addopted in Parliament and entered into force on 1May, 2002 make equality of rights the authograph with electronic signature (string electronic data) Main fields of editing: way to make and use the electronic signature certification and registration - presenting certification services and registration services

Legislation 3/4 Draft of Law on electronic commerce at present the draft is under approval process includes the rules for commerce which are realizing on internal market, through the Internet, between businessmen as well as between businessmen and customers supported to development of infomation society, creating the competition scene, set-up internal market

Legislation 4/4 The Law will bring: basic legal relations of e-commerce responsibilities of information society service providers, which are very important for customers

Present situation of e-services 1/2 e-banking - many banks offer the services through Intrernet. It´s very comfortable and easier for customers, because they can do basic credit commands and check their bills (they obtain the information in real time) through the Internet online services as turist information, information about cultural undertakings etc.

Present situation of e-services 2/2 government online - e-public services (based on Act on Free Access to Information). On the website of the Office of the Government the public can find all materials submitted to the sessions of the government as well as governmental resolutions and many others information about work of Government e-shops, where the salemen offer their products on Internet
