Introduction As students in a constantly progressing technological age, it is important to know how to use many resources. Presentations relay ones ideas display research advances present proposals to an audience learn opinions from others to further interdisciplinary studies. Microsoft Power Point is the most commonly used presentation creation software. slide show presentations research posters Can be used in: conferences meetings classroom projects.

What you need: PowerPoint 2007 Basic ClipArt Package

2. Right click on the slide in the viewer window on the left. 1. Open PowerPoint

3. Move your cursor over the “Layout” option, and change the slide to “Blank”

4. In the “Insert” tab, click on the Clip Art icon

5. A window will appear on the right side of the screen. In the search bar, search for a picture that is related to the topic your presentation is on. (Example: shovel)

6. In the “Results should be:” pull down menu, uncheck all of the types of media except for Clip Art.

7. Scroll through the pictures until you find the one you like and click on it to insert it onto your slide.

8. Right click on the picture. Move your cursor over the “Group” option. Click “Ungroup.”

9. You will be prompted to convert the object to a drawing object. Select “Yes.”

10. Repeat step 8. Your slide should now look like this:

11. Click on the white part of the slide, away from the picture. All of the circles and squares should disappear.

12. Each object is now separate pictures that you can drag and manipulate however you want. Note: Often, some of the lines are also separate from each other. Be careful about what you are clicking on.

13. The background and shading are pulled off the picture by simply click on them and dragging to the side.

14. To do something to all the components of the picture at once, highlight them all by clicking your mouse in the white space above the top left corner and drag your mouse to below the bottom right corner.

15. When you release the highlighting click, all of the components should be selected, so whatever changes you make will be made to all of them. (Example: moving the components to a different position)

16. Don’t do any flips or rotations at this stage, because they will all flip separately and it will look like this:

17. To change the color of a component, remove the layer of drawing in front, right click on it and click on the “Format Shape” option.

18. In the “Fill” tab of the window that appears, select “Solid Fill.” Pull down the color tab and select the color.

19. Move the top layer back on top of the picture. 20. Delete the background objects that you removed earlier.

21. To regroup the picture so you can manipulate it as a single object, highlight all of the components, as in step 14, and right click.

Make sure your cursor appears as the four arrows for this step.

22. Select “Group” and then “Regroup.” If you are adding another component to the group that wasn’t originally there, you must select “Group.”

23. To flip the object through a mirror plane, click on the object and choose the “Format” tab, then the “Rotate” pull down menu and flip however you want.

24.To rotate the object, click on the green circle attached to the top of the picture and drag right or left.

25. Now you can insert this custom picture into your presentation.
