Purpose: Studyhandbook StudiehandbokaStudyhandbookStudiehandboka Main goals; Experience with: –Systemdevelopment (methods, criteria… –Qualityassurance (avoid, find defects –Be responsible for a project (plan, track, …. –Project management (on time, on budget…..

Most important now: I: Establish groups –create a projectroom in the IS-304; Group Rooms Decide for a project –discuss with employer, project owner –write project proposal –get approved project proposal within given date. (PS: you probably have to refine a couple of times before approval.)

Most important now II: Understand basic concepts and theory: –What is quality: how do you recognize quality? –System development methods: alternatives, criterie to choose –Quality assurance : what to do to produce quality?

Responsibility You are responsible for the project –define the project and its goals –decide for a SD method –project plan and tracking estimate time and resources on different parts/modules/functions, and track hours used –adjust the plan if necessary ( it will be necessary!) –handle unforeseen situations that will occur

Group cooperation I have expectation and requirement to one another the group decides the consequences when work is not delivered on time or with decided quality. Be professional: –know status, always –find where the project have problems, which module, or which person, and ACT. –begin plan and tracking from week 2

Group cooperation II Be responsible –everybody have the same responsibility to succeed. –do not accept free-riders problems / conflicts –in case of a problem bring this up quickly. Avoid a problem to increase. (productivity, quality, personal, work habits, different level of ambition…… ) The project is managed by the group, NOT by the advisor

Work load 20 ECTS means 27 hour’s a week A group of 4: 108 hour’s a week 20 weeks  2160 hour’s = 1,2 man year
