Compare and Contrast Ernesto was thirsty after soccer practice. He had one dollar to use in the vending machine and he needed to choose what bottled drink to buy. The machine had three options: orange juice, soda, and water. Ernesto liked soda a lot. He thought of the bubbles in the soda and how they felt good when he drank them. Soda was full of sugar and was not healthy. The reason Ernesto played soccer was so he could be healthy, so drinking soda after soccer practice didn’t make much sense. Ernesto also really liked orange juice. It was sweet and full of good vitamins. But orange juice was also very thick and might not get rid of this thirst. It was a very hot day and Ernesto wanted something that was not only cool to drink but that would replace all the sweat he made running back and forth on the field. Water didn’t have vitamins like orange juice, but Ernesto knew it was still very good for him. “Water has no taste, but it is the best when you are very thirst,” he thought, and bought a nice cold bottle of water.
