Wisconsin Supreme Court Jack and Kyle

Jurisdiction and Justices The court is the highest appellate court in WI and has jurisdiction over original actions. Appeals from lower courts, and regulation or administration of the practice of the law. Seven justices who all serve a ten year term.  Only one justice may be elected in any year

Court decisions Bargaining rights for unions being limited in the new state budget was ruled constitutional by the Wisconsin Supreme Court after much conflict. Ruled 4 to 3 after a close election for a supreme court seat that may have changed the decision. Wisconsin v. Mitchell-A man named Todd Mitchell beat a white boy on the street and caused him to be in a coma for four days. The Circuit Court for Kenosha County sentenced him for 7 years of imprisonment. The case than went to the Wisconsin Supreme Court.
