What are noun clauses? A noun clause is a group of words that is often used to make a typical sentence sound more professional. Many times, the presence of a noun clause in a sentence will help us understand the actual meaning of the sentence context.

Why do I have to learn noun clauses? All advanced English students need to be proficient when identifying and using noun clauses in sentences. Each professional needs to know how to state his / her own ideas with precision, and noun clauses will help them satisfy this need.

Types of noun clauses In the structure of sentences, noun clauses can be used as: the subject of the sentence, the direct object of the verb, the indirect object of the verb, the object of a preposition, or the complement of the sentence.

Examples of sentences with noun clauses: 1. What you told me will surprise everyone. 2. That you became an engineer is amazing! 3. I’m going to buy what I’ve always wanted. 4.
