 For every hour you are in class you study outside of class for two hours.  I lectured for 3 days (3 hours) on The History of English  How many hours should you have studied?

 Rewrite/Reorganize your notes  Flash cards  Recording yourself and then listening  Study Group  Partners

 Auditory- Be There; Listen; Record  Visual- See it  Kinesthetic – Write It

 Computer Tests  Answer all of the questions you know the answers to first  Go back and answer the questions you wrote down  Paper Tests  Answer all of the questions you know first  Write notes in the margins/ highlight key words for those you are unsure of  Go back and answer the questions you skipped

 Realize that it happens  Reflect –  Did I truly study?  What methods did I use?  Is there something else I could have done different to prepare?  Go talk to your teacher/professor during their office hours  Ask to review your test results  Ask if they have any suggestions

THERE IS NO RETAKE! THERE IS NO EXTRA CREDIT!! THERE IS NO I WAS NOT HERE THERE IS NO I JUST GOT INTO YOUR CLASS

 Get it done  Get it done right  Get it done right the FIRST TIME

What does this mean to you? Reflect on the highlights of this power point. How can you apply this to your academic career? What, specifically, do you need to do to ensure your personal success in high school, college, trade school, your job/career?
