My Curriculum Presentation: “Under The Sea” By Katherine Whitney

The Ocean (Background Information) Our Oceans make up most of the Earth’s surface. Our Oceans are mostly unexplored. Our Oceans are a vast source of resources. Our Oceans are in danger from many sources; global warming, over fishing and natural events.

71% of Earth’s surface is ocean water. 95% of the oceans is unexplored territory. (NOAA)

Green Sea Turtle & Starfish

My project My project uses the elements of the ocean to present what students can do using Stencyl. This is a very basic program with no game interaction. Its purpose is to demonstrate the programming used to create a project or game; to introduce students to programming and codes behind programs.

Components of Project Inside my project you will find tropical fish swimming in schools. The background consists of a coral reef teeming with sea life. The sound is a recording of ocean waves.

For the students… For my students I would like for them to be able to understand the background found in computer programs. The overall goal of my project is two-fold; to help them understand the time and effort that goes into their games and to help ignite interest in computers and computer related fields.
