Native Americans in the Coast Region The Ohlone Tribe is one Native American tribe in the coast region. They live around the San Francisco Bay because there was usually good weather there. They lived in small huts, and had a ‘sweathouse’, which was basically a clubhouse. They traded with nearby tribes like the Miwok and the Yokuts. They ate a lot of seafood, cooking it above the fire. Their main stories were Coyote trickster tales.

Cities Major cities in the coast region include San Francisco, Oakland, San Jose, Los Angeles, and San Diego. Los Angeles has almost 4 million people while San Diego has just above 1 million. Industries The major industries in the coast region are technology, entertainment, engineering, and fishing. All of them make good money. Natural Features The redwood trees in the coast region are the tallest trees in the world. They are a good place to visit when you have a chance to. The sandy beaches are also good places to visit. Best of all, you can visit the Old Faithful geyser. Interesting Facts It stretches over 8,000 miles along California’s coast. It also has 21 Spanish missions to visit including San Francisco De Asis and San Diego de Alcalá.
