ASSISTING FARMERS Agricultural Adjustment Act : lower production to raise crop prices Gvt paid farmers to leave certain amounts of acreage of land unseeded Paid cotton growers $200 million to plow under 10 million acres of their crop Paid cotton growers $200 million to plow under 10 million acres of their crop Paid hog farmers to slaughter 6 million pigs Paid hog farmers to slaughter 6 million pigs Upset Americans Put more money in farmers’ pockets
