BC School Trustees Association Slide: 2 History of PC  Established in 1987  Ensures interests of all boards are represented in the governance of BCSTA

BC School Trustees Association Slide: 3 Membership  One representative elected annually by each member board of the Association  Board of Directors

BC School Trustees Association Slide: 4 Powers and Duties Must approve:  Annual budget  Member fees  Honoraria  Expense Criteria

BC School Trustees Association Slide: 5 Powers and Duties Has power to:  Establish interim policies between general meetings  Direct the Board regarding investment of funds  Elect an interim Director

BC School Trustees Association Slide: 6 PC Meetings Meet three times a year:  Once at AGM (approve budget)  Twice - usually in February and in October

BC School Trustees Association Slide: 7 Agenda Items and Motions  Must be received at the BCSTA office five weeks prior to a meeting  May be submitted by member boards, branches, Board of Directors and the Education and First Nations Education Committees
