MobileMAN Application Layer Piergiorgio Cremonese Netikos S.p.A.

New Application and Services Identify existing applications exploiting Ad- Hoc technologies Application value –Technical Value –Economical/Social Value

Co-operation Increases the quantity of available services –Network grows –Services grow Increases the Quality of Services

Models Peer-to-Peer: all actors play the same role Client-Server: different roles are played Server, clients

Client Server Common Scenario in the wired networks (ex. Web,…) One-to-Many Good network connection on the server Server has a special role in the network

Peer-to-Peer Co-operative model: actors have the same role than they Seems to be Ad-Hoc oriented –Present also in wired networks (ex. Conferencing) –Many-to-Many –No special constraints on some actors

Activities Identify applications that could be adapted to the models defined within the Project Application porting/adapting to the MobileMAN platform –Linux? –Windows? Setting up applications within test-bed Testing

Applications Example Peer to Peer –Content Sharing –NetMeeting on MMP –VIC –Games? Client Server –WAP server –Conference (one-to-many) –Games?
