Isaiah 25:6 The LORD of hosts will prepare a lavish banquet for all peoples on this mountain; A banquet of aged wine, choice pieces with marrow, And refined, aged wine. 7 And on this mountain He will swallow up the covering which is over all peoples, Even the veil which is stretched over all nations. 8 He will swallow up death for all time, And the Lord GOD will wipe tears away from all faces, And He will remove the reproach of His people from all the earth; For the LORD has spoken. 9 And it will be said in that day, "Behold, this is our God for whom we have waited that He might save us. This is the LORD for whom we have waited; Let us rejoice and be glad in His salvation.”

1. Where is the banquet? Isaiah 25:6 The LORD of hosts will prepare a lavish banquet for all peoples on this mountain “this mountain” = Mount Zion: Isaiah 24:23 …For the LORD of hosts will reign on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem, And His glory will be before His elders.

2. What will be served at the banquet? Isaiah 25:6 The LORD of hosts will prepare a lavish banquet for all peoples on this mountain; A banquet of aged wine, choice pieces with marrow, And refined, aged wine. Represents the best food and drink. Physical pleasures are just billboard advertisements for heaven!

3. When is the banquet? Isaiah 25:9 And it will be said in that day,… In Isaiah 24-27, = Rapture / Second Coming / Millennium

4. How long will the banquet last? Isaiah 25:8 He will swallow up death for all time…

5. What will happen at the banquet? Isaiah 25:8 He will swallow up death for all time, And the Lord GOD will wipe tears away from all faces, And He will remove the reproach of His people from all the earth; For the LORD has spoken. A. Swallow up death B. Wipe away tears C. Remove the reproach of His people

A. Isaiah 25:8 He will swallow up death for all time… Isaiah 25:7 And on this mountain He will swallow up the covering which is over all peoples, Even the veil which is stretched over all nations. 8 He will swallow up death for all time…

A. He will swallow up death for all time 1 Corinthians 15:51 Behold, I tell you a mystery; we will not all sleep, but we will all be changed, 52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet; for the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. 53 For this perishable must put on the imperishable, and this mortal must put on immortality. 54 But when this perishable will have put on the imperishable, and this mortal will have put on immortality, then will come about the saying that is written, “Death is swallowed up in victory.

B. Isaiah 25:8 …And the Lord GOD will wipe tears away from all faces… Revelation 7:17 for the Lamb in the center of the throne will be their shepherd, and will guide them to springs of the water of life; and God will wipe every tear from their eyes.

C. Isaiah 25:8 …And He will remove the reproach of His people from all the earth… 1 John 3:2 Beloved, now we are children of God, and it has not appeared as yet what we will be. We know that when He appears, we will be like Him, because we will see Him just as He is.

6. Who can come to the banquet? People from all over will be there: Isaiah 25:6 The LORD of hosts will prepare a lavish banquet for all peoples… 7 And on this mountain He will swallow up the covering which is over all peoples, Even the veil which is stretched over all nations.

6. Who can come to the banquet? An open invitation: Revelation 22:17 The Spirit and the bride say, "Come." And let the one who hears say, "Come." And let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who wishes take the water of life without cost. But actual attendance is limited: Isaiah 25:8…He will remove the reproach of His people from all the earth…. 9 And it will be said in that day, "Behold, this is our God for whom we have waited that He might save us. This is the LORD for whom we have waited…

6. Who can come to the banquet? Isaiah 26:1 In that day this song will be sung in the land of Judah: "We have a strong city; He sets up walls and ramparts for security. 2 Open the gates, that the righteous nation may enter, The one that remains faithful." Two characteristics of those who get in: Faithful Righteous

Who is righteous enough to get into the banquet? Isaiah 64:6 For all of us have become like one who is unclean, And all our righteous deeds are like a filthy garment… Isaiah 53:11...By His knowledge the Righteous One, My Servant, will justify the many, As He will bear their iniquities. Righteousness by faith, by being in relationship with Jesus the Messiah!

Isaiah 26:3 The steadfast of mind You will keep in perfect peace, Because he trusts in You. 4 Trust in the LORD forever, For in GOD the LORD, we have an everlasting Rock. “steadfast of mind” Hebrew is something like: “the images/imagining of his mind are resting on/leaning on [God]” “perfect peace” Hebrew is literally: “peace, peace” (“shalom, shalom”)

....

Isaiah 25:1 O Lord, You are my God; I will exalt You, I will give thanks to Your name; For You have worked wonders, Plans formed long ago, with perfect faithfulness. 2 For You have made a city into a heap, A fortified city into a ruin; A palace of strangers is a city no more, It will never be rebuilt. 3 Therefore a strong people will glorify You; Cities of ruthless nations will revere You. 4 For You have been a defense for the helpless, A defense for the needy in his distress, A refuge from the storm, a shade from the heat; For the breath of the ruthless Is like a rain storm against a wall. 5 Like heat in drought, You subdue the uproar of aliens; Like heat by the shadow of a cloud, the song of the ruthless is silenced.
