3. Is Jesus coming a second time? Hebrews 9:28 So Christ was once offered to bear the sin of many; To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation. 4. 2-SC THE SECOND COMING OF CHRIST What did Jesus promise to us? John 14:1-3 Let not your heart be troubled: you believe in God, believe also in Me. 2 - In my Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

5. 2-SC THE SECOND COMING OF CHRIST 3- And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. Jesus said, “If I go... I will come again.” We have His promise that He will return to this earth at the right time.

6. 3- SC THE SECOND COMING OF CHRIST What was Jesus’ body like after the resurrection? Luke 24:36-43, 50-51 Jesus himself Now as they said these things, Jesus himself stood in the midst of them, and said to them, Peace to you. 37- But they were terrified and frightened, and supposed they had seen a spirit.

7. 3-SC THE SECOND COMING OF CHRIST 38- And he said to them, Why are you troubled? And why do doubts arise in your hearts? 39- Behold My hands and My feet, that it is I Myself. Handle Me, and see, for a spirit does not have flesh and bones, as you see I have.

8. 3-SC THE SECOND COMING OF CHRIST 40- When He had said this, He showed them His hands and His feet. 41- But while they still did not believe for joy, and marveled, He said to them, “Have you any food here?” 42- So they gave Him a piece of broiled fish and some honeycomb.

9. 3-SC THE SECOND COMING OF CHRIST 43- And He took it and ate in their presence. He 50- And He led them out as far as Bethany, and He lifted up His hands, and blessed them. heaven 51- Now it come to pass, while He blessed them, He was parted from them and carried up into heaven.

10. 3-SC THE SECOND COMING OF CHRIST What was Christ’s body like when He went to heaven? The same as after the resurrection.

11. 4-SC THE SECOND COMING OF CHRIST How will Jesus return? Acts 1:9-11 Now when He had spoken these things, while they watched, He was taken up, and a cloud received Him out of their sight. 10- And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as He went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel,

12. 4-SC THE SECOND COMING OF CHRIST Jesus heaven Himheaven 11- Who also said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven.” Jesus will return IN LIKE MANNER. Literally, bodily, personally, and visibly, not in a figurative or spiritual coming.

13. 5-SC THE SECOND COMING OF CHRIST Who will see Jesus when He comes again? Revelation 1:7 He Behold, He is coming with clouds; and every eye will see Him, even they who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him. Even so, Amen.

14. 5-SC THE SECOND COMING OF CHRIST EVERY PERSON, EVERY EYE, WILL SEE HIM WHEN HE APPEARS in the clouds of heaven. Christ will not appear at His second advent in any secret way just to the elect; His coming will be just as open and visible to all people as the lightning.

15. 5-SC THE SECOND COMING OF CHRIST Matthew 24:27 For as the lightning comes from the east, and flashes to the west; so also will the coming of the Son of man be. Does this sound secret to you?

16. 6-SC THE SECOND COMING OF CHRIST Will the wicked see Jesus at His coming? Revelation 6:14-17 sky receded as a scroll Then the sky receded as a scroll when it is rolled up, and every mountain and island was moved out of its place.

17. 6-SC THE SECOND COMING OF CHRIST 15- And the kings of the earth, the great men, the rich men, the commanders, the mighty men, every slave, and every free man, hid themselves in the caves and in the rocks of the mountains.

18. 6-SC THE SECOND COMING OF CHRIST face of Him who sits on the throne 16- and said to the mountains and rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the face of Him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb. 17- For the great day of His wrath has come, and who shall be able to stand?” The wicked will see him and try to hide but the righteous will look up rejoicing.

19. 6-SC THE SECOND COMING OF CHRIST Isaiah 25:9 And it shall be said in that day, “Behold, this is our God; We have waited for Him, and He will save us. This is the LORD; We have waited for Him; We will be glad and rejoice in His salvation.”

20. 6-SC THE SECOND COMING OF CHRIST Who will rejoice at the second coming? Psalm 24:3-4 Who may ascend into the hill of the LORD? Or who may stand in His holy place? 4- He who has clean hands and a pure heart, Who has not lifted up his soul to an idol, Nor sworn deceitfully.

21. 7-SC THE SECOND COMING OF CHRIST Who will be with Jesus at the second coming? Matthew 25:31 Son of man comes in His glory He throne of His glory When the Son of man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory. All of the angels come with him.

22. 7-SC THE SECOND COMING OF CHRIST How many angels are there? Revelation 5:11 Then I looked, and I heard the voice of many angels around the throne, the living creatures, and the elders; and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands...

23. 8-SC THE SECOND COMING OF CHRIST Why are all the angels with Christ? Matthew 24:30-31 of the Son of Man in heaven Son of man coming of heaven Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they will see the Son of man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

24. 8-SC THE SECOND COMING OF CHRIST 31- And He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. The supreme purpose of Christ’s second coming is to take His people to that wonderfully prepared place - Heaven.

25. 9-SC THE SECOND COMING OF CHRIST Will Christ walk on the earth at the second coming? I Thessalonians 4:16-18 heaven of God For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first.

26. 9-SC THE SECOND COMING OF CHRIST Lord Lord 17- Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. 18- Therefore comfort one another with these words. The righteous meet Jesus in the air.

27. 9-SC THE SECOND COMING OF CHRIST Christ will NOT COME SECRETLY, BUT WITH A MIGHTY SHOUT that will be heard all over the earth. That shout will cause the millions and millions of graves where the righteous are buried to open and all the righteous dead will rise to meet Jesus in the air. The righteous who will be living on the earth

28. 9-SC THE SECOND COMING OF CHRIST at that time will be changed in a moment from mortality to immortality. See I Corinthians 15:50-53 kingdom of God 50- Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; nor does corruption inherit incorruption.

29. 9-SC THE SECOND COMING OF CHRIST 51- Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed- - 52- In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

30. 9-SC THE SECOND COMING OF CHRIST 53- For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. At this point Christ has never touched the earth as all the saved go back to the mansions in the city of God - the heavenly New Jerusalem.

31. 10-SC THE SECOND COMING OF CHRIST What will the righteous be like in Heaven? Philippians 3:20-21 Lord Jesus Christ 20- For our citizenship is in heaven; from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ,

32. 10-SC THE SECOND COMING OF CHRIST He Himself 21- who will transform our lowly body that it may be conformed to His glorious body, according to the working by which He is able even to subdue all things to Himself. The coming of Jesus means that we will say good-bye to this world of sin with all our troubles, trails, hardships, and
