Overview Three Parts Language e.g. English, Chinese Locale e.g. Australia, US Page direction: LTR, RTL Affects Words, Date Formats, Page Layout
Configuration: Server Level Sysadmin Menu: Configuration Settings Need to set both the Language and Locale and the Page Direction. See lams_supported_locale database table for valid values. Login Page always shows in Server language. New users default to Server Language

Configuration: User Level Set via User Profile or User Management screens. Applies once the user has logged in. Select from a drop down – language, locale and page direction set automatically. List based on the lams_supported_locale table.

Language Packages All transations are in CVS Only complete translations will be included in formal releases. Languages will be release in “Language Packs”, which will contain all completed translated languages.
Dictionary Files The actual translations are deployed in: Flash /server/default/deploy/lams.ear\ lams-central.war\flashxml Java /server/default/deploy/lams.ear\ lams-dictionary.jar
Default Tool Content But content in Authoring is in English! Then change the default tool content. SysAdmin menu, Edit Default Tool Content option. Uses same screens as authoring. Applies to new activities. Applies to whole server – can’t have an English and a Spanish version.
