EMPLOYMENT CERTIFICATES An Employment Certificate or Work Permit is generally required when Students under 18 yrs. of age Recent high school graduates Minors who work for their parents Minors who do industrial homework (with or with out machinery)

WORKING PAPERS: PAPERWORK REQUIREMENTS What is needed: Parental permission (Employment Form) Proof of birth (Birth Certificate/Passport) Certificate of physical fitness (Current) Doctors Note/Examination Results Social Security card (Valid Copy)

EMPLOYMENT CERTIFICATES: TYPES AND GUIDELINES 16 & 17 year olds – GREEN CARDS (AT-19) Necessary for ALL occupations Weekly work hours – 28 hrs. Days per week – 6 (maximum) Monday, Tuesday,Wednesday and Thursday During school – 4 hrs. (maximum) When on vacation – 8 hrs. daily (maximum) Exceptions: farm work, newspaper carrier & street trades

CERTIFICATES- cont. 14 & 15 year olds – BLUE CARDS (AT-18) Necessary for ALL occupations Weekly work hours – 18 hrs (maximum) Days per week – 6 (maximum) Daily hours – 3 hrs. on school days 8 hrs. on other days Daily hours on vacation – 8 hrs (maximum) Exceptions: farm work, newspaper carrier & street trades

OTHER TYPES OF WORK PERMITS Farm Work Permit - 14 & 15 yr olds (AT-24 Yellow Card) Farm Work Permit – 12 & 13 yr olds (AT-25 White Card) - harvest berries, fruits & vegetables Newspaper Carriers – 11 to 18 yr olds (AT-23 Buff Card) Street Trades – 14 to 18 yr olds ( AT 26 Ivory Card ) Child Model Permits – models under 18 (AT 12 Green Card) Performers – Under 18 ( issued by Chief Executive of the municipality )

CERTIFICATE: RECORDS LOCATION The employer MUST keep the following: Non-factory General Student Full-time employment certificates Temporary placement agencies Short term employment records Keep file in office Provide copies at the establishment where minor works.
