Some facts about duisport … The world’s largest inland port: Approximately 110 million tonnes are transshipped in the public ports and the 7 private ports p.a. The world‘s largest inland container port: Transshipment of over 1 million TEU per year The leading hinterland hub of the Northern EU sea ports: Network of more than 350 container shuttles per week One of the leading logistics locations in Europe: logport project with more than 60 new logistics investments from a dozen nationalities within the last years The most important economic factor in the region: Over 36,000 jobs depend on the Port of Duisburg

duisport: location In the Heart of Europe Situated in Europe‘s largest industrial conurbation with more than 30 million consumers and 300,000 companies within a radius of 150 km Located at the junction of major European water, rail and road transportation routes Major hinterland hub for gateway cargo from and to the North Sea ports The EU enlargement made Germany the geographical center of the world‘s largest free trade area

Logistics Service Providers Infra- and Suprastructure Providers Business Units Logistics Service Providers Infra- and Suprastructure Providers Packing Logistics duisport (Duisburger Hafen AG) logport Logistic-Center Duisburg logport ruhr duisport agency duisport facility logistics duisport rail duisport consult dpl Duisburg / Essen dpl Chemnitz dpl Hainburg dpl Antwerp dpl Shanghai Integrated Service Provider

duisport – an integrated port concept with strategic investments of global players duisport became a fully developed port concept with 1,6 Mio. m² warehousing capacities 50,000 sq.m 40,000 sq.m 20,000 sq.m 30,000 sq.m 25,000 sq.m 120,000 sq.m

logport I: one of the leading logistic centers in Europe & Samstag, 22. April 2017 logport I: one of the leading logistic centers in Europe & a major hub for contract logistics Roll-on/roll-off Shunting yard DIT / D3T 3 PDI center

Integration of strategic partners Example: Duisburg Trimodal Terminal Europe‘s first shipping line container terminal in the hinterland Start of operations: 1st January 2008 Lines involved: CMA CGM and NYK as equal partners (each 40%) alongside duisport as further partner (20%) Two berths and four half train-length platforms were built on the lot CMA CGM and NYK are consolidating their gateway cargo at the Duisburg location More than 100,000 TEU turnover at D3T in second year of operation  Learning #1: Cooperation & integration of strategic partners

Example project: Terminal D3T on Logport I (NYK / CMA CGM / duisport) Largest container crane in an inland port in Europe 4 rail tracks handling area reinforced concrete wall on a drilled pile foundation sheet pile wall with banquette Cross-section:

Terminal- and railway infrastructure Status quo 220 km of rail tracks 5 Shunting yards 7 intermodal container terminals connected via daily duisport rail shuttle: Capacity 2010: 1,5 Mio. TEU p.a. Capacity 2015: 2,5 Mio. TEU p.a. Further service facilities: 5 coal unloading terminals 9 covered loading/discharging facilities 6 steel service centers 19 liquid cargo transfer facilities Approx. 0.6 million m³ of tankage 2 roll-on/roll-off facilities 1 PDI center and 220,000 sq.m for automobile logistics at the logport site DUSS DeCeTe RRT DKT DIT/D3T Gateway West

duisport – expansion of leading turntable and hub function duisport as europe`s largest gateway hub and special focus on railway infrastructure Construction of 5 shunting yards to allow optimal processes and further growth Direkt connection of warehouses to track network via individual rail hubs Minimum of half train length tracks in terminals Advanced track network signalling and control system Further expansion of railway infrastructure planned to serve costumer needs  Learning #2: Long-term investments in essential infrastructure interfaces, i. e. terminal and railway infrastructure

Provision of innovative solutions Example: Break Bulk & Heavy Lift Solutions Project “Nordhafen” - Status Jan. 2010 Verpackungs- halle Spare parts Halle additional 45,000 m² for packing logistics multipurpose hall (6,750 m² with 8 overhead cranes up to 25 tons) packing hall (4,850 m² with 6 overhead cranes up to 100 tons incl. direct water access for 100 tons handlings for short sea vessels) both directly connected to track network

Example project: Heavy Lift Terminal Duisburg (HTD) Completion: January 2010 Location: Duisburg, south bank Außenhafen Floor space: 11.600 m² Hall: 2.000m²; hook clearance 15m, canopied with direct water access Specialties: trimodal handling and packing of heavy goods direct access via inland naviagtion network to seaports and to production sites in south germany 2 overhead cranes, 2 heavy-duty cranes with single capacity up to 125 tons, integration of platform for heavy goods handling up to 500 tons possible Nordhafen HTD  Learning #3: Establishment as an innovative customer-driven solution provider
