3. What do the size of the stripes remind you to do? The different sizes remind you to choose more food from the food groups with the wider stripes.

4. What will happen if we eat healthy and exercise regularly? If we eat healthy and exercise regularly, our organs and body systems will work to the best of their abilities.

5. What are organs? Organs are body parts that do particular jobs.

6. What do groups of organs form? Groups of organs that work together form systems.

7. What are the main parts of the skeletal system? The main parts of the skeletal system are the bones and joints.

8. What is the job of the skeletal system? The job of the skeletal system is to support the body, protect organs, and help body parts move.

9. What do bones do? Bones give your body shape.

10. Describe two types of joints. Your bones meet at joints. Some joints open and close as the hinge of a door does. Your knees work this way.

# 11 Other joints let a bone move in many directions. Your shoulder works this way. (ball and socket)

12. How does calcium help bones? Calcium helps bones grow and makes them strong. Dairy products like milk, cheese, and yogurt contain calcium.

14. What is the job of the muscular system? The job of the muscular system is to move body parts.

15. How do cardiac muscles work? Cardiac muscles work automatically- without you thinking about it.

16. What does exercise do for your muscles? Exercise makes your muscles stronger and larger.

17. What do the carbohydrates found in food do? Carbohydrates provide your body with energy. The best sources of carbohydrates—whole grains, vegetables, fruits and beans—promote good health by delivering vitamins, minerals, fiber, and a host of important nutrients.

18. What does warming up prevent? Warming up by moving all your big muscles for five to ten minutes before you exercise helps prevent injury or pain.

19. What is the difference between good fats and bad fats found in food. The fact on “fats” is: we all need fats. Fat helps nutrients be absorbed into the body. However, when consumed in excessive amount, fats contribute to weight gain, heart disease and certain types of cancer.
