Direct Enhanced Service GPs can choose to take up the DES for learning disabilities. GPs will receive payments for; –Learning disability register –Offering annual health checks –GP must attend training to receive payment. –Does not apply to people with a mild learning disability.

Direct Enhanced Service 40 GP Practices taken up DES 2009/2010. Implementation strategy devised with contracting & commissioning. Multi-agency training session delivered. All GPs agreed ONE Read Code 918e. Devising health check template. Pre – health check questionnaire.
