2013 Campaign Results

What Donors Are Saying “My favorite part about the YOU&I campaign is that I can choose where my money goes.” “Still very impressed about the hand written note. I am amazed that people took the time to write that many, and personally address it to each person.” “The choices. I felt like some of them were for normal operational expenses, and I think you should not ask employees to cover operational expenses. I was disappointed that the majority wasn't for things outside of normal day-to-day operational expenses. Which is why I chose Hospice.”

Project Selection Choose something with heart, tangibility and demonstrates impact Project goal = Last year’s fundraising total Does not have to be a capital project – Can be equipment, program, renovation, etc. Due: Nov. 1, 2013

Annual Timeline Nov. 1 – Project submission deadline Dec. 1 – Spending deadline (80% of project) February – Include project in budget March – YOU&I campaign May 14 – Credit card deadline for purchase May 31 – Final deadline for purchase

Passions: Funding Model

Spending (last year’s money) Dec. 1 - Deadline for spending the largesse of the current YOU&I project Documentation: receipts from all purchased items, RFF (Request for Foundation Funds)

Budgeting (next year’s campaign) February – Include all YOU&I proposed project expenses Documentation: Clearly label the budgeted item(s) as YOU&I items – Fit appropriately in capital budget and/or operating budget, as it relates to your project – Combination capital/operating is fine, err on side of capital budgeting

Stewardship Capturing stories, sharing with donors Saying thank you Using YOU&I Ambassadors Project updates sent throughout the year

The YOU&I campaign’s intent is not to build funds that sit untouched for years. We commit to our donors and fellow employees to spend and purchase every year. – Documentation required: paid invoices or documentation from GL accounts showing payment have been made. POs, quotes, or bids are not acceptable forms of documentation.

Your Responsibility Together – we are committed to a joint partnership founded in transparency, integrity, donor confidentiality and professionalism. Spend at least 80% of passion funds annually Submit reimbursement forms by May 31 of the fiscal year Budgeting YOU&I projects & spend accordingly each year Inability to fulfill terms, passion management falls to Chris Hammes

New in 2014 Stacking – the easiest, quickest way to grow your passion’s fund Renew early, suggested upgrade – prepopulated, last year’s gift, suggested upgrade Honor/Tribute

Your Feedback Ideas? Suggestions? Inspiring Stories? What do you need? What doesn’t work?
