First HAYAT Annual Patients Forum – 21 st March 2010 – SAS, Kuwait “ Cancer” is a medical, psychological, social and economic issue. This dreadful word known to everyone is usually connected to death in the mind of so many… The disease has been experienced by almost each Family in Kuwait like anywhere else in the World. Each one of us has a friend, a relative or a family member who suffered from Cancer.

First HAYAT Annual Patients Forum – 21 st March 2010 – SAS, Kuwait Increasing public awareness has resulted in more people getting regular cancer screenings and practicing healthy lifestyles to reduce their risks. Having one or more risks factors for cancer does not mean you will get Cancer. In fact, many people considered high-risk never develop the disease.

First HAYAT Annual Patients Forum – 21 st March 2010 – SAS, Kuwait Empower and mobilize communities to prevent cancer, save lives and diminish suffering should be a national priority. Hayat as the organization of choice for meaningful volunteer requires active participation by all. Our Legislators should support issues related to cancer and help pass laws requiring that cancer screenings – like mammograms, colonoscopies and PSA tests be accessible to whoever needs them.
