Lifestyle Improvement Challenge Criteria District Driven Competition/Promotion—promotion, attendance, and implementation of lifestyle improvements at district schools—33% Lifestyle Improvement Event—participation at the grand finale event in Spring 2014—33% Promoting a Healthy Lifestyle in the Future—documentation of future plans for improving the health and well-being of children—34% Tarrant County Commissioner Gary Fickes served as the judge for the Lifestyle Improvement Challenge
The Impact of the Lifestyle Improvement Challenge Helped schools create new and unique ways to promote healthy lifestyles Encouraged students and families to improve their health Screenings assessed risk, increased awareness of risk and provided information in support of healthier lifestyles Encouraged families to spend time and get active together
The Impact of the Lifestyle Improvement Challenge Over 5,300 individuals participated three district-wide grand finale events Over 65,000 students participated in Lifestyle Improvement Challenge events throughout all three districts
Northwest ISD District Events Pink Out Football SMASH Party—educate staff about early detection for breast cancer Mobile Mammography Unit for staff and district parents Fitness Fun Fest—Over 600 attendees
