How Saturn got it’s Name!  Associated with a Greek god; Agriculture  Root of the English word Saturday

Discovery!  Galileo was first to observe it  Telescope

Planet Measures!  Mass: 5.68e26kg  Volume: 827,129,915,150,897km3  Density: kg/m3  Can float on water  Gravity: 0.7m/s2

Composition of the Atmosphere!  It is thin but made out of gases and ice chunks.

Distances!  Sixth planet from the sun  1,429,400,000km from the sun  1,200,000,000km from the earth.

Orbit and Rotation!  29 earth years for Saturn to orbit the sun  10.7 hours for Saturn to rotate on its axis

Temperature!  (-185°C, -290°F)

Appearance!  Gas Giant  Made of hydrogen, helium, ice and ammonia  Saturn is a Gas giant. It has a ring around it made of ice chunks. Saturn will also float on water.
