College Prep – Distribution of Chromebooks Be RespectfulBe ResponsibleBe Safe Each College Prep teacher will receive a cart of Chromebooks for all students based on College Prep roster. – Chromebooks are available for check out to teachers starting on Monday, August 31, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. in the Learning Center – Each Chromebook has A serial number and Student information (picture, name, ID#) with a scan code for check out Access for All Program: – The Chromebook is already checked out to each individual student are currently in your classroom. – The decision of whether or not student A is taking the Chromebook home will need to be made by College Prep teachers based on both conditions below: Completion of Ignition (all three modules) Completion of Parent Contract, Internet Use, and Parent’s Agreement to check out.

College Prep – Ignition Modules Be RespectfulBe ResponsibleBe Safe Students will start and finish the three-part Ignition Modules during College Prep period everyday this week. Instruction on how to help students start and finish the modules are available for downloads on school website >> Resources >> College Prep Lessons Minor troubleshooting or decision making might occur during this process. College Prep – Review of Chromebook Contracts Be RespectfulBe ResponsibleBe Safe – Programs >> Access for All – 1:1 Chromebook – School & Home Communication >> Authorized Use Policy – English Students may visit the rest of the pages to learn more about different programs being offered this school year.

Mobile Device Authorized Use – One-on-One Digital Learning Program Guidelines Be Respectful – Students shall use the device for educational purposes only. – Students shall respect themselves and others through the use of internet (social media, apps, hard ware, etc.) Be Responsible – Students shall be responsible for their own device and the content downloaded to the device. – Students shall be responsible to bring their device fully charged to school daily. – All devices are to be collected during extended holidays, when students travel outside of the U.S., and at the end of the school year. – Students shall take care of their device at all time (hardware and software) Be Safe – Students shall be responsible for the cost of the device should it be damaged, stolen, or lost. – Students shall not share your password, personal information, and identity with anyone in person or online. – Students shall be monitored both at home and school for appropriate behavior on the internet. – Students have no privacy rights in the use of District technology

College Prep – Check Out of Chromebooks Be RespectfulBe ResponsibleBe Safe Student may take home the Chromebook if – They finish the Ignition and – Have the contracts signed and permitted to take home by parent Teachers will make the decision using the following guidelines (based on the excel sheets being provided to you) – Contract: YES – Internet Use: YES – Ignition: YES – Allowance of “take-home”: YES If one of the previous four conditions is “No”, students shall not check out a Chromebook. – If this is the case, student will have the option of “daily check out” from the Learning Center When in doubt, please send your questions to – Ms. Shin – Mr. Shalash – Ms. Hammer

Week 2 – At A Glance – Preparation for MAP Be RespectfulBe ResponsibleBe Safe Visit: – – Username: – Password: what’s yours? – If you “Forgot Username/Password”, click on “Forgot User Name/Password” to have a new temporary password ed to you. Now, visit the website and try to create a “Test Session” – If you have never been trained, look over someone’s shoulder. – A training session will be provided to you at our next Staff Meeting. – If you created a Test Session, try College Prep Period students. Then discard the Test Session.
