Mission to Space

Day 1 Mission Bring your team together. Exchange phone or email. Assign missions to accomplish For homework… Find the Characteristics of Mars vs Earth. Link available on my website. Bring Materials that can be reuse… Mission in the computer lab… complete the questions about your body behavior away from Earth.

About the Model 3D (must be a model) Must be 100% recycled materials (can’t buy anything), find items around your house, BE CREATIVE!!! NEAT Document explaining all accommodations. Group answer of final question. This will be given to each group on due date.

Accommodations that you need to address in the Space Leaving Earth: How you will overcoming gravity and slingshot effect on humans? Traveling, Living and Working in Space: How you will keep a Healthy Body? Find out how your different body systems can be impact in space? (Exercise, bone density, sleeping, hygiene, health, eating, diseases) Effects of Microgravity on the Body: Identify how being weightless, long-term effects on muscles and bones? How solve the problem? Pressure, Temperature, and Atmosphere Changes: Find out how they will be provided: air supply, temperature, pressure, and radiation protection, maneuverability? Space Food: challenges in preparing and eating, taste, Waste Management: toilet, showers, garbage disposal, recycling center etc.

Final Product Mission to Mars All models must include the following Final Product Mission to Mars All models must include the following. Each is worth up to 10 points. 3D (must be a model) Must be 100% recycled materials (can’t buy anything), find items around your house, BE CREATIVE!!! Day 2 Mission You and your team have all the answers to your questions. Provide a turn to each team member to present the information for each question that they found, listen carefully in case information is missing. Compare HW notes the characteristics of Mars vs the Earth. Start to work analyze your needs as a human in space with the facilities and resources that you will need. In other words… From the discussion find the situations and problems related to each body system how you can prevent or solve it.(accommodations) You can start you sketch for your model and working at the same time with the written document. YOU CAN‘T START BUILDING UNTIL YOU SHOW DR. B YOUR TEAM NOTES AND SKETCH

Day 3 Mission You and your team have all the answers to your questions. Provide a turn to each team member to present the information for each question that they found, listen carefully in case information is missing. Compare HW notes the characteristics of Mars vs the Earth. Today you need to Start to work analyze your needs as a human in space with the facilities and resources that you will need. In other words… From the discussion find the situations and problems related to each body system how you can prevent or solve it.(accommodations)… if not is HOMEWORK for your team Body system Problems with Prevent or solve Facilities or things that need to be provide

Example on How to work with goal 4… same with all systems Body system Problems with Prevent or solve Facilities or things that need to be provide Skeletal Bone density Diet (Ca) Exercise Food high in Calcium and Vit D Room for exercise with the equipment adapt for the conditions to space that way can be efficient (RESEARCH About it) Bone fractures Straight back Circulatory
