Presentation transcript:

AK

Rock that forms when melted rock cools and hardens. EXAMPLES-Basalt, gabbros, pumice, obsidian, granite, and rhyolite. MG

Cemented sediment EXAMPLES- Conglomerate, shale, sandstone, and limestone. AK

When a rock is changed by heat and pressure. EXAMPLES-Schist, gneiss, slate, quartzite, and marble. MG

First an igneous rock such as granite can be changed into sandstone which is a sedimentary rock through weathering and erosion. Then the granite turns into a metamorphic rock by heat and pressure. After that it can melt and harden into a new igneous rock with enough heat. AK

A naturally occurring nonliving solid that has a specific chemical makeup crystalline or repeating structure. MGMG

Color, luster, streak, and hardness. AK

Cement, salt, asphalt, and bricks. MGMG
