Ca. 170’000 sq. km land is affected (4 times the total area of Switzerland)

900’000 houses are destroyed or damaged…

4’700 villages have been wiped off…

destroyed bridges…inaccessible villages…

More than 100 bridges disconnected…

Receding water leaves behind thick mud, infested with snakes…

3.2 million hectares of cropland (16% of total) destroyed …. livestock devastated…

2 million bales of cotton destroyed and 500’000 tons of wheat is ruined… (equal to annual wheat production of Switzerland)

They are the most resilient survivors, but they also need our help…
