Capital City: Gangtok; in lower Himalayas; 5,800 ft alt; HQ of East Sikkim District. Population: "Notified Town Area“: 1,98, % Males, Females 47%. Total area: 20 Sq. Km Gangtok

Title of the Study : Extended Producer Responsibility Objective of the Study: Assess Volume – Consumption Plastic food Packaging- PET bottles - Tetra Packs in Sikkim Findings of the study Annually 3.5 crore Plastic food packaging generated. Annually over 55 lakh PET bottles generated. Annually over 59 lakh Tetra Packs generated.

 Major local Brands Wai Wai instant Noodles (Chaudhury Group), Sikkim Supreme Mineral water and squashes Sikkim Milk – Milk pouches and ice cream, yoghurt and Cheese.  Major national brands Coca Cola, Pepsi co (Drinks & Chips) Britannia, Nestle, Parle.

 Role of Informal Sector.  Use of Rudimentary Technology.  Unskilled Workers.  Health Hazards.  Environment  Waste Entrepreneurs  Volumes & Kinds of waste.
