Mid-Autumn Festival Mid-Autumn Festival is on 15 th August in the Chinese calendar. On that day, family members gather to eat moon cakes and children play with lanterns. They also see the dragon and lion dances. The Moon Cake is the special food of Mid-Autumn Festival. Nowadays, people buy moon cakes to relatives and friends to celebrate the festival. Moon cakes have been made with sweet fillings of nuts, mashed red beans, and lotus-seed paste. Sometimes a cooked egg yolk can be found in the middle of them.
