 2012 Oct 1-10: Dale & Gelu at OVRO  get ACC/cRIO control of antennas working + rudamentary schedule and stateframe.  get ROACH-1 remote boot and KATCP working  optical pointing on the three prototype antennas  get wet-dish brightness size/pattern  2012 Oct 15-Nov 15  Kjell sets up racks in new building  Wes sends timing subsystem for integration into rack, Kjell tests with phone/ support  Correlator boards set up at NJIT, first testing of design begins  Gelu tests RS-485 communication with Rabbit module  DPP computer defined and ordered (shipped to OVRO)  Dale writes EOVSA operations proposal!  2012 Nov 15-30:  Wes completes assembly and test of LO subsystem and ships to OVRO for integration by Kjell/Stephen M.  Nimish completes design and testing of correlator.  2012 Dec 1-15:  Wes completes downconverter #1 & 2, ships to OVRO for integration by Kjell/Stephen M.  Final decision to purchase long-lead items and enclosures—orders placed.  Dale & Gelu at OVRO to develop control of LO and DC modules.  Correlator shipped to OVRO, Nimish at OVRO to set up and do initial tests.  Jim at OVRO to set up DPP computer.  2013 Jan 1-21  Downconverter #3 and front-ends shipped to OVRO. Wes, Gelu, Dale at OVRO for control, integration/test.  Jim, Gordon at OVRO for first operational test of DPP.  Initial attempt to determine feed best focus, radio pointing, first fringes. 9/26/2012Prototype Review Meeting 2

Analog system  Verify brightness spot size and design brightness sensor  Determine what temperature monitoring is needed in field (AUX box, controller), define and acquire hardware.  Determine what signal conditioning (inverting/duration of 1 pps, brightness sensor, FE trigger) is needed and design board for AUX box. May need analog, digital, and thermocouple modules?  Verify speed of RS-485 control of attenuators  Specify equalizer in DC (built into first DC amplifier) Cryo-receivers  Find out lifetime # rating for Dow-key switches in 27-m front end.  Redo thermal budget calculation with latest design to ensure 77 K/15 K can be maintained for stage1/stage2.  Make final decisions re: couplers, amplifiers  Use 18 GHz low-pass filter from warm frontend Correlator  Check implication of using 16-bit correlation data (throw away lowest 4 bits).  Check output of only two polarizations at a time vis a vis linear polarization calibration. 9/26/2012Prototype Review Meeting 3

Control System  Complete the stateframe definition and distribute  Develop the scan-header implementation (things that are constant during a scan) Schedule/Coordinate System  Check if linear interpolation of 1 s uvw is accurate enough DPP  Verify that DPP can parse XML template and successfully read binary stateframe Engineering Database  Define stateframe input, in order to permit database design  Investigate how to initialize “rich” static information  Investigate whether database can serve as fault system  Investigate whether database can drive display system through SQL queries Metadata Database  Define keywords for FITS header, to use as metadata fields 9/26/2012Prototype Review Meeting 5
