Keith Haring was one of the most influential visual artists of the late 20 th century. He wanted to bring art to everyone and started drawing on the subway.

He was part of the Hip Hop scene in New York.

His bold cartoon like images are icons of American art and popular culture.

Worksheet- Start by making a base out of a flat piece of paper in the shape of a square or circle Then trace your drawings and simplify the figure shapes Transfer them onto coloured paper Cut round the figures in your drawings and experiment with the paper to create interlocking flat figures that combine successfully in the style of Keith Haring Use glue and tape to hold the paper in place Look at Keith Haring’s sculptures for inspiration
