 This section runs 6 weeks  Begins the week of Oct 11 th  No Classes  Oct 11 th - Thanksgiving  Oct 15 th – NAIT Open House  Nov 11 th - Remembrance Day  Ends the week of Nov 15 th  Plan accordingly to get your video digest in on time

 BAI516 & BAI617  Mastering Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2  ISBN-13:  This course covers:  Ch  Ch.21 & 23  BAI617 will cover the most of the remaining chapters

 Overview of Active Directory Domain Services  Implementing Active Directory  Working with Active Directory Sites  Global Catalog and Flexible Single Master Operations (FSMO) Roles  Active Directory Administration  Introduction to Group Policy  Configuring the User and Computer Environment Using Group Policy

 Classroom machines use VMware Workstation 7  Install VM files on portable HDD  Keep backup copies in event of calamity  Set networking to host (local) networking  Student workstations have 8GB of memory

 All slides and labs will be posted prior to class. Should you miss a class you will be responsible for staying on schedule  All files will be posted to the class FTP server – ftp://ftp.cst.nait.ca/BAIST/BAI516/

 2 Hrs & 3 prepared VMs  1.5 hrs to complete challenge +.5 hours to complete video digest  2 x Windows 2008  1 x Windows 7 or XP  Challenge any time with one sessions notice – you will be given lab prep instructions to prepare for the next session  Challenge completes the requirement for this section of the course  Text, Internet, Engineering Journal can all be used as resources  One try only – No Video, no mark

 Proof of mastery for this course will be provided through a video digest.  When you are ready, you will be given the challenge and instructions for the requirements of your video digest and the marking rubric  Videos digests are voice annotated demonstrations of your skill and understanding. You will need to bring a headset to class.

 You are free to take the Challenge Exercise at any time during this 6 week section.  The deadline for taking the Challenge is the last class of this section  Your grade will be based on your video digest and represent 34% of your mark in BAI516
