Creadore Presentation Creadore short presentation

Code of conduct How did we make this – PwC – Red Barnet How did we implement – All producers from Pakistan and Egypt 4 days in Kolding How do we work with this in daily life – Cooperation not punishment – Running proces for improvement

How do we secure Ethical and Environmental progress Audits Visits to the factories Meetings in Denmark Dialogue with producers and customers Helping producers with compliance if problems (external or internal persons) – Benchmark with other suppliers -> best practise – Joint meetings with different suppliers -> best practise

Internal organisation for Ethic and Environmental issues Compentence center with participants from: – Management / owner – Sales and purchasing people

How do we work with the projects Bureau Veritas project in India and Pakistan Ecolabel certification Next step Egypt External consultants used internally – fx (Professor from CBS, Niels Baggesen) Training of Beirholm employees, Certification of Beirholm/Creadore, information about new labels a.o. External consultants by producers – fx (PwC, SGS, Victoria Group) Audits – help producers to set up systems – train producers

Challenges Legal Do the demands meet the local legal demands Voluntarily contra compulsory Ethical Working hours in COC contra workers demand (fx China) Environmental How to make the producer see the advantages by investing in the environment if customers only focus on price Price The price will be higher as only producers with good machines, systems, chemicals, skilled workforce can obtain fx Ecolabel Limited knowledge about the labels Competitors do not know what is behind the label and inform that they can require easily

Advantages What have we gained towards our producers and customers Local environment improved Investment in sustainable solutions by the producers Awareness of the production set up here and by the producers – understanding each other better All parties focus on the environment and ethical matters and try to do better

SUPPLIERS where are our producers located PAKISTAN EGYPT INDIA CHINA EASTERN EUROPE TURKEY

Experience with the proces of ECO-label Use external consultant to help with the process – When: If no chemical engineer / person with similar qualifications employed in the company – Why: Speak same language – chemical engineer to chemical engineer – What: Help producer to get correct information - understand the demands from Ecolabel and producer – Why: Ecolabel will ask one time and expect information to be given Visit to Eco label Denmark – you and your consultant Participate in audits by supplier Involve yourself in the process to secure progress (ask Ecolabel about status, progress, offer help if needed) If possible participate when f.x new criteria is made

Experience with participation of public tender Where do we meet it? - Hospitals, elderly homes, other public institutions where they use flat linen. Until today, no specific requirements of eco labelling What is there to gain from implementing eco label requirements in a public tender.
