Joint Crediting Mechanism (JCM) Japan has held consultations for the JCM with developing countries since 2011 and signed the bilateral document for the JCM with Mongolia, Bangladesh, Ethiopia, Kenya, Maldives, Viet Nam, Lao PDR, Indonesia, Costa Rica, Palau, Cambodia, Mexico, Saudi Arabia and Chile Kenya June 12,2013 (Nairobi) Ethiopia May 27, 2013 (Addis Ababa) Leading low carbon technologies, etc, and implementation of mitigation actions JAPAN Host Country JCM Projects MRV Methodologies will be developed by the Joint Committee MRV Used to achieve Japan’s emission reduction target Credits GHG emission reductions/ removals

Product / Technology Push LCET Programme Goal: Promoting rapid deployment and dissemination of new low carbon low emission clean energy technologies, products, services and systems while linking this with Joint Crediting Mechanism (JCM) Project Site: Global, with special focus on Africa Budget: Phase Ⅰ  5.6 millions USD (2013-2016)             Phase Ⅱ  2.6 millions USD (2014-2017) Public Sector Private Sector Product / Technology Push Market / Demand Pull LCET Programme Focus Funding Basic R&D Applied R&D Demonstration Deployment Diffusion Incentives, Standards, Regulation, Subsidies, Taxes Investments, Knowledge and Market Spillovers

LCET in Ethiopia Goal: Project Site: Terms: Budget: Enhancing local capacity and promoting ultra-low head micro hydro power technologies for productive uses in Ethiopia while linking this with Joint Crediting Mechanism (JCM) Fentale, Oromia State, Ethiopia 2014-2017 1.5 million USD (Now) (Very near future)
