Canada’s Role Starter What would Canada’s decision to declare war mean for Canadian families?

Canada’s Role Main Task Write down anything in GREEN. As part of the British Commonwealth, Canada declared war on Germany in 1939; Canadian soldiers fought in battle from the beginning of WWII. Some key battles that Canadian soldiers were involved in: Dieppe Raid The Italian Campaign D-Day on the beaches of Normandy, France Most people supported participation in the war, as Hitler and the Nazis posed a threat to Britain and Canada. The Canadian economy used wartime production to recover from the Great Depression. By 1942, Canada adopted a policy of total war, meaning all industries, materials and people were part of the war effort.
