RSVP-TE Extensions for SRLG Configuration of FA CCAMP WG, IETF 78th, Maastricht, Netherlands draft-zhang-ccamp-srlg-fa-configuration-00.txt Fatai Zhang (zhangfatai@huawei.com) Dan Li (danli@huawei.com)

Objectives To configure SRLG information of the FA automatically before advertising an FA. Make the FA advertisement completely automatically to accommodate the procedures in [RFC4206bis]

Background: SRLG of FA The SRLG information of the FA is the union of the SRLGs of the TE links that make up the FA-LSP path. ----[RFC 4206] The SRLG information may be used for SRLG disjointed path computation by the nodes/PCE in the client network. A FA (SRLG: 1,2,3) B Client network Server network SRLG: 1 SRLG: 3 FA-LSP C SRLG: 2 D SRLG of FA may be get automatically through routing (OSPF or ISIS). ----[RFC 4206]. However, usually it is a little difficult to get the SRLG of FA through routing, because of the following reasons: (1) In the client/server networks, the detailed path information that passes through the server network may usually not be provided to end points of the FA in the client layer because of confidential consideration/policy. (2) For the client/server networks, usually they have separate routing instance, so the end points of the FA can not get the SRLG information of FA-LSP.

RSVP-TE Extension Requirements SRLG information indicating Indicating whether the SRLG information of the FA-LSP should be collected during the signaling procedure of setting up an FA-LSP. SRLG information collecting Collecting the SRLG information during the setup of an FA-LSP. FA SRLG update When SRLG information changes, the endpoints of the FA-LSP should be capable of updating the SRLG information.

SRLG Information Indicating Action field The LSP_TUNNEL_INTERFACE_ID Object defined in [LSP-Hierarchy-bis] is extended by adding a new flag (S flag) to the Action field. S = 0 means that the endpoints do not need the SRLG information. S = 1 means that the endpoints need the SRLG information.

SRLG Information Collecting A new object (SRLG Information Object) is defined to collect the SRLG information during the signaling procedure of setting up an FA-LSP. The SRLG information can be added to the Path/Resv message hop by hop, which is carried in the new object defined here.

Signaling Procedures A B C D FA B Path Client network Resv Server network SRLG: 1 SRLG: 3 C SRLG: 2 D A sends a Path message to C, requests to set up an FA-LSP to B and request to collect the SRLG information. During the Path message traversing C/D/B, the SRLG information of the FA-LSP is collected in the SRLG Information Object. B gets the SRLG information. During the Resv message traversing D/C/A, the SRLG information of the FA-LSP is collected in the SRLG Information Object. A gets the SRLG information.

Next Steps Adopt it as a WG document It is helpful to accommodate the procedures in [RFC4206bis]. Refine it according to the feedback from the meeting or mailing list
