Consortium members Participants include: –NCHS/CDC, AHCPR, HCFA, NCVHS –NAHDO, NAPHSIS, CSTE, ASTHO, AHSR Other organizations to include: – NACCHO, AMCHP, ASTPHLD, State Medicaid Directors, Cancer registries, mental health and substance abuse

Inventory Inventory of current content requirements for state hospital discharge databases and other encounter databases –NAHDO project with AHCPR – NAHDO to : Design simple Information Model of data elements Identify variations in definitions of data elements Identify additional high priority data needs
Data Dictionary User-friendly data dictionary: – to communicate the content of standard claims transactions to non-technical audience to map data elements from NAHDOs Information Model to the standards not to duplicate efforts already accomplished e.g HL7, X12, Metadata registry efforts
