Sam H. MinelliStockholm June Use Case: B2B General search of an image: example Mr. Business is looking for an image about animals. Mr. Business using the free search : animal, cat, cat and dog makes a refinement of his search in the archive. He obtains as output reproductions of work of art (paintings, mosaics…) in which there are animals and photographs of animals (generic free search). Mr. Business decides to buy some images: he has filled the basket with some images and then he must contact (by ready made ) the archive specifying the use, the number of copies, the resolution or support of the reproduction he needs and…he waits an answer. There can be no automated download of images for the business customer as each parameter (number of copies needed, the use, the resolution or support,…) can modify the price of the product. The preview image has a big visible watermark.

Sam H. MinelliStockholm June Use Cases: B2C Mr. Consumer is looking for an image in which there must be some musical instrument. Mr. Consumer uses the free search : instrument, music, pianoforte. He obtains as output reproductions of works of art in which there are musical instruments (i.e. paintings, sculptures…) and photographs of the objects searched. Mr. Consumer founds some images that he likes and decides to buy them: he has filled the basket with some images and wants to download them. The download activates the server watermark-on-the-fly which puts dynamically an invisible sign in the image (and a visible sign with the unique IP address of Mr. Customers computer, the date and ID of the selected image). Mr. Consumer can not use the image for business purposes and the downloaded file is not a high resolution image.

Sam H. MinelliStockholm June Use Cases: B2E (1) List search of an image: example Bob is a student and he is looking for an image of Venice made about in 1910 by Filippo Tommasi. Bob uses the list search using keywords :Venice for the place of shot; 1910 for the date of shot; Filippo Tommasi for the author. Bob chooses an image and decides to download it. The download activates the server watermark-on-the-fly which puts dynamically an invisible sign in the image (and a visible sign with the unique IP address of Students computer, the date and ID of the selected image). Bobs credit number decreases. Bob can not use the image for business purposes and the downloaded file is not a high resolution image.

Sam H. MinelliStockholm June Use Cases: B2E (2) If Bob has finished his credits before the end of one year (B2E credits have a time limit of use), he can still make searches but not downloads till a new charge has been made. If Bob does not use all his credits before the end of one year, his credits would be lost and he would need a new subscription.
