Circulation Desk  Check books in and out  Return – Book Drop  No one behind the desk except library assistants

PERIODICALS  Newspapers  Tuscaloosa News & Northport Gazette  Magazines  Most Recent  Older Periodicals

BOOKS  F or Fic – Fiction  000 – Nonfiction  B – Biography  BC – Biography Collection  SC – Story Collection  R or Ref- Reference

BOOKS  Do not shelve books, put them in the book drop  Books can be checked out for 2 weeks and must be renewed afterwards  Fine = 10¢ for each day late

COMPUTERS  For School Research Only  No games, music, , etc.  Do not change desktop, screensavers, etc.  Do not save documents onto the computer unless you ask.  You will need a USB drive. USB drives are available for check out.  A network Drive (S:) is also available  Printing - 10¢ per copy

CONFERENCE ROOM  Do not enter  Reserved for Meetings

Lost / Damaged Items  Lost or damaged materials should be paid for by the end of the semester.  Replacement cost for hardback books is $25.00  Replacement cost for paperback books is $7.50.  Replacement costs for all lost and damaged materials are determined by the Tuscaloosa County Board.

 For home access, Alabama Virtual Library cards are available upon request.  AVL is one of the best resources for you to find information for your assignments.

DESTINY DESTINY is the software that is used to manage the library collection You can access DESTINY from any computer in the school to search for books in the library. Computers in the library have the NHS Destiny page as the home page. NHS Library Catalog
