I am an insect.
3 oo million of us migrate to Mexico each fall.
I start out as an egg.
I feed on milkweed flowers.
I have four wings that I use to fly.
When it is winter I migrate to Mexico, to get away from the cold.
I have two antennae.
No animal can eat me because I will make them sick.
I have six hairy, spikey legs.
I have a long tongue that I use to collect nectar from the milkweed flowers.
My colors are white, black, orange, yellow, tan, and brown.
I make no sound.
My habitat is in open fields and meadows with milkweed flowers.
I eat milkweed flowers.
I have a poisonous substance in me so when animals eat me I will make them sick.
I live up to six to eight years.
I am pretty and beautiful.
I have a thorax and a proboscis.
What am I?
I am an Monarch Butterfly!
