Who we are: Proud and dedicated citizens for the preservation and development of West Carrollton & Moraine community… Our primary mission is preserving and sharing the Wright Brothers' philosophy of flight and Orville’s efforts that contributed to the development of “Hydro-Aeroplane” technology… (right here in West Carrollton!) Wright Seaplane Base, Inc. is an educational non-profit 501(c)(3) organization founded in 2007 to preserve the memory of aviation activities contributed by Orville and Wilbur Wright

Wright Seaplane Base Historical Marker Amanda Lane-Wright is the Great Grand Niece of Orville and Wilbur Wright and was our honorary guest at the dedication ceremony on Aug 20, 2010.

LET’S PARTNER & MOVE GREAT COMMUNITY IDEAS FORWARD !!!  Tourism is $38B industry for Ohio; Natl’ AF Museum alone attracts ~1M visitors/yr  The Wright Seaplane Base is one of the first seaplane bases, as established by the Wright Brothers and deserves a prominent spot in the National Aviation Heritage Trail  WSBI is fund raising & seeking partnerships to build up this historic Wright Bros. landmark!  West Carrollton can use this historical site as an economic cornerstone to compliment current & future site development efforts!

THE WSBI VISION AND CHARTER 2015 and Beyond 1)Partner with local area middle schools to inspire area S.T.E.M. aviation centered programs 2)Fund WSBI’s 1st Annual Scholarship to Wright State University’s Summer Air Camp Aviation program for West Carrollton Middle School Students 3)Add to the National Aviation Heritage Trail by building local partnerships within City of West Carrollton and Moraine to build Wright Seaplane Base Interpretive Learning Center for Aviation and Maritime centered STEM programs 4)Raise funds and partner with community to adopt Wright Model G Aeroboat sculpture as part of West Carrollton’s Miami Bend Economic Development Project 5)Raise awareness of Wright Seaplane Base West Carrolton location & its influence on aviation history 6)Educate public on Wright Brothers influential contribution to Float Plane and Flying Boat technology
