Prices fall, demand rises. 7. Roaring 20s: change in social culture of US. Modern thought. 8. Flapper: women who revolted against standard roles. 9. Harlem Renaissance: Birth of African American Culture in US during 1920s. Langston Hughes, Louis Armstrong, Apollo Theater. 10. Sacco and Vanzetti: 2 Italians wrongly accused and killed for a murder. Represent “nativist” fears in US during 20s.

11. Immigration act of 1924: Limited immigration from Southern and Eastern Europe. Response to RED SCARE. 12. Prohibition: Ban the sale, production, distribution of alcohol. 18 th amendment. 13. Scopes Trial: “Monkey Trial” put ideas of Evolution on trial in Tennessee. Challenging traditional ideas th amendment: Women gain the right to vote.
