The Weak Things God Hath Chosen  I Corinthians 1:  27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;

The Weak Things God Hath Chosen  I Corinthians 1:  28 And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are:

The Weak Things God Hath Chosen  I Corinthians 1:  29 That no flesh should glory in his presence.

Humble Christian Hero or Heroine  A hero or heroine means a person who shows a great courage and also is admired for his or her achievements and qualities.

God’s Purpose for the Weak Things He Uses  God raises up people to achieve His purposes.  God has a way of taking nobodies and making them into somebodies through the power of Jesus Christ.

What God Thought of Gideon  Gideon was with God.  Gideon was a strong man with courage.

What Gideon Thought of Himself  Gideon had seen the tragedies.  Gideon did not see miracles.  Gideon thought that God forsook him.  Gideon was under the rule of the Midianites.  Gideon was poor.  Gideon was not well known.

Gideon’s Weakness  Gideon had fear of fighting.  Gideon had fear of dying.  Gideon had a habit of indecision.  Gideon had cowardice.

Gideon The Transformed Man  God’s power transformed Gideon:  Indecision to acts of heroism  Hiding to facing  Fear to faith  Cowardice to courage

John Knox  John Knox was born in Scotland.  He was ordained as a Catholic priest.  He was converted to Christ after he met a Bible-believing Christian, George Wishart, who was burned at the stake.  He was the reforming leader in Scotland.

John Knox  John Knox was commanded to kiss a wooden image of the Virgin Mary.  John refused, grabbed the statue, and threw it overboard.  Then he shouted, “Let her save herself! She is light enough; let her learn to swim.”  His act of courage stirred up the reformation in Scotland.
