Australian Curriculum Parent Evening WEDNESDAY 7 AUGUST 2013

Where has the Australian Curriculum come from? The Curriculum has come from the Melbourne Declaration of Educational Goals for Young Australians. The focus of these goals is to emphasise the importance of knowledge, skills and understandings of learning areas, and general capabilities and cross curriculum priorities to develop a curriculum that supports 21 st century learning.

This new curriculum is designed to be used by educators as an online tool. The Australian National Curriculum is the first fully designed online world class curriculum globally. The focus is on depth not breadth We now have a National Test (NAPLAN) that is based on a National Curriculum In some year levels, the flow and focus has changed Introducing the new Australian National Curriculum
