Our Next Meeting Officer Installation Saturday, Jan 10 th, 2015, Social 6:30pm – Cash Bar Meeting starts at 7pm. Pointe Plaza Hotel located at 950 J Clyde Morris Blvd, Newport News VA Baci Italian Restaurant – Town Center Hampton, Virginia The meeting was called to order by President Ken Wood at 7:00 p.m. The invocation was given by Chaplain Gary Hodges; Pledge of Allegiance by Treasurer Rick Elofson and the SAR Pledge by Registrar Jim Samples. Presentation of Supplemental Certificate by President Ken Wood to Compatriot Everette R. Feldt for Patriot Ancestor Jonathan Pardee. President Ken Wood inducted our new compatriots Paul Thomas Garner (Patriot ancestor William Estes, Sr.) and Robert Lovie Haley (Patriot ancestor James Green). Poquoson Fire Chief Joseph Insley, Sr., introduced Assistant Fire Chief Tyler who was awarded the Fire Safety Commendation Medal by President Ken Wood. President Ken Wood presented Certificates of Appreciation to Gerald Runyon, Graves Committee Chairman and Joe Shipes, Past President, for being a USO volunteer at the Newport News Airport. Captain Guy R.A. Sorenson of the Chesapeake Marine Training Institute, Inc. in Gloucester County was presented with a Flag Commendation Certificate on the 24th of November Robert and Carole Lott of York County was presented a Flag Commendation Certificate on the 19th of December Norman and Kim Lloyd of York County was presented a Flag Commendation Certificate on the 19th of December 2014.

President Wood presented Assistant Fire Chief Tyler Evans of the Poquoson Volunteer Fire Company with the Chapter's 2014 Fire Safety Commendation Medal for his outstanding work in the Poquoson Volunteer Fire Company President Wood inducted new member Compatriot Robert L. Haley into the Chapter during the November meeting. His Patriot ancestor is James Green. New member Compatriot Paul T. Gardner received his SAR Rosette by Registrar Jim Sample after being inducted into the Chapter by President Wood. His Patriot ancestor is William Estes, Sr. November’s Meeting

President Wood presented Immediate Past President Joe Shipes with a Certificate of Appreciation for his many hours spent volunteering at the Raymond B.
