Death’s evidence and effects are all around us

Death is Not the Final Word  Our destiny is life and blessing  “Living Souls” Genesis 2  The image of God

Sin Distorted God’s Beautiful Creation  All have sinned- Romans 3:23  Sin leads to death- Romans 6:23  Only God can heal us-Romans 6:23  God wants us to live! Deuteronomy 30:19  The choice is yours- Psalm 14:17

The Good News in the Hebrew Scriptures  Turn and live!- Ezekiel 33:11  God will destroy death forever Isaiah 25:8  I will ransom you from the power of the grave- Hosea 13:14  God’s promises fulfilled in Jesus

What Difference Does this Make?  Jesus cuts through the death “cover-up”- v.14  Jesus deals directly with the ugliness of death- v.39  Jesus goes past the “churchy” answers on death-v.24  Jesus weeps with us in our grief-v33-35  Jesus deals with the effects of sin and death right now!- v.44
